The Cairn of Continuums:

When we begin thinking in “both/and” rather than “either/or” we generate continuums rather than dichotomies. This Cairn allows you to examine continuums and systems created by two or three continuums coming together, for example Situational Thinking. I am finding that the most interesting and informative space in this Cairn is the center space where one, seemingly, has the greatest leverage over the whole system. Below is the Conversation Continuum, a single non-linear continuum.

This Cairn works when you:

• Are creating a “polarity map” or building scenarios

• Want to understand the dynamic intersection of 2 or 3 continuums

• Want to understand organizational “fields” such as collective thinking, communication or conversation
